Stages of the publishing process
- The thesis is sent to the editor to the Editor's address.
- The editors initially assess the work and decide on submitting it for review, sending it back to the author for modification or rejection.
- The editors send the paper (without identifying the authors) to two reviewers - experts in a given field. Reviewers send the Editor's opinion on the work on a special sheet within 2 weeks.
- After receiving the review, the Editorial Board decides about accepting the work for printing, sending it to the authors for modification or rejecting it. The decision takes into account the value, importance and innovation of work. The Editorial Board makes the final decision about accepting the work.
- The editors notify the authors of their decision and provide tips on how to improve the work. The authors receive an anonymous version of the review and forward the final article to the Editorial Board as soon as possible.
- The work is sent to the depot. After the composition, the authors receive a text for proofreading in order to make minor corrections.
- The work is published. The full version of the work is also available on the website www.almanach.karaimi.org.
Principles of publication ethics
The Editorial Board of the Karaim Almanac makes a decision on the publication of the submitted text, primarily guided by scientific considerations and compliance of the article with the thematic profile of the magazine.
In its work, the Editorial Board aims to eliminate cases of plagiarism and practices referred to as guest authorship and ghostwriting. In the case of suspected violation of the ethics of scientific publications, the author or authors of the text submitted for publication are notified in writing about the allegations with a request to respond to them. In the absence of an answer, the institution in which the author is affiliated shall be informed of suspected violation of the principles of scientific ethics.
Plagiarism in all forms is an unethical practice and is not accepted. The reviewer informs the Editorial Board in writing about suspected plagiarism or the so-called self-plagiarism by the person submitting the text for publication, indicating fragments of the text raising doubts. In this case, the Editorial Board launches the examination procedure with the participation of reviewers and the author of the text sent for publication. In the event of confirmation of the unlawful use of the text, statements, test results or data, the author of the article submitted for publication shall be notified in writing of the rejection of the text. In the absence of an answer about the case, the institution in which the author is affiliated is notified. In the case of autoplagiate, when the author in the article submitted for publication publishes previously published fragments of the author's own text, the Editorial Board informs the author in writing about the refusal to publish the article due to the lack of original character of the analyzes.
