Abstract
This article presents preliminary remarks on manuscript no. JSul.III.01, which features a south-western Karaim translation of the five books of the Pentateuch. The author provides a sample of linguistic material from the Book of Genesis along with an English translation and discusses a number of phonological issues related to the language of the translation, focusing on the delabialization process that occurred in south-western Karaim.

Doktor nauk humanistycznych w zakresie językoznawstwa, turkolog, adiunkt w Zakładzie Turkologii Uniwersytetu im. Adama Mickiewicza oraz adiunkt w Instytucie Językoznawstwa i Przekładoznawstwa Uniwersytetu Jagiellońskiego w Krakowie. Jej zainteresowania naukowe skupiają się wokół zagadnień dotyczących języka karaimskiego, ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem dialektu krymskiego. W 2015 roku wydała monografię poświęconą temu zagadnieniu zatytułowaną Crimean Karaim Version of Melukhat Sha’ul. Critical Edition and Linguistic Analysis. W latach 2013–2018 uczestniczyła w projekcie badawczym finansowanym w ramach Narodowego Programu Rozwoju Humanistyki pt. Wydanie krytyczne Biblii karaimskiej z tłumaczeniem na język angielski, który zakończył się opublikowaniem dwutomowej monografii The Crimean Karaim Bible wydanej jako 119 tom serii Turcologica (wydawnictwo Harrassowitz, Wiesbaden). Prowadzi zajęcia
z języka i literatury karaimskiej, a także współczesnej i ludowej literatury tureckiej.
